What is the Chocolate Finance x HeyMax partnership?

Chocolate Finance and HeyMax announced a partnership in February 2025⁴, which allows people with a Chocolate card to earn HeyMax rewards - known as Max Miles - as they spend. You can earn, track and redeem your Max Miles in the HeyMax app once you’ve linked your card, and then switch your points for air miles, hotel stays and gift cards through various different redemption channels.

When you use your HeyMax Chocolate card you can earn Max Miles at the following rates:

  • Earn 1 Max Mile per S$1 on your first 1,000 SGD monthly spend. (Rate effective 1st July 2025, previously 2 Max Miles per S$1)
  • 0.4 Max Miles per dollar on all spending above 1,000 SGD per calendar month
  • Up to 5 Max Miles per dollar on SMRT travel

We’ll take a look at how you can redeem your Max Miles with 27+ different airline and hotel loyalty schemes, or to pay for flights anywhere in the world, next.

HeyMax Max Miles - How it works

Max Miles are HeyMax’ signature loyalty currency. You earn Max Miles as you spend with your Chocolate Visa card, and the points don’t expire. Once you have your Max Miles you can redeem them in several different ways. Redemption for flights is super flexible, as you can claim cash back in return for buying travel tickets through any channel simply by uploading the payment receipt showing you’ve bought a flight⁵.

Or, if you already use a specific airline or hotel loyalty scheme you can also switch your Max Miles to the partner scheme at a 1:1 ratio, for spending with that specific scheme. HeyMax has partnerships with providers like Accor Live Limitless, British Airways Executive Club and Qatar Airways Privilege Club, giving you flexibility in how you use your points.

Finally, you can also switch your Max Miles for gift vouchers for places like Grab, Lazada and Amazon to buy yourself a treat.

It’s worth noting that while you can add your Chocolate card to HeyMax, HeyMax does also support other Visa credit and debit cards, allowing you to earn Max Miles with different cards as well. The HeyMax app will give you information about which linked card is best in a given situation, so you know you’ll always get the best available deal based on the specific transaction.

How to Redeem Max Miles

There are several different ways to redeem your Max Miles, which gives ultimate flexibility depending on the type of perk you’d prefer:

  • Use your miles to claim cash back on flight bookings through the Fly Anywhere option - simply book your flight through a travel agent or the airline booking page, and upload your receipt to claim cash back
  • Convert your miles to airmiles with your favourite airline schemes - switch as a direct points transfer or as a cash-for-miles conversion with airlines like Singapore Airlines, British Airways and Qatar Airways
  • Redeem your miles as gift cards - buy online in the HeyMax app, to receive vouchers you can use for gifts, food and more

We’ll pick apart how these different redemption options work next.

Fly Anywhere

If you use the Fly Anywhere route, you can claim cash back at 1.8 cents per mile. You’ll receive your cash back via PayNow.

You’ve got the freedom to choose the airline, flight and travel class you prefer, and claim up to the full amount back as cash back, based on your points balance. While this does mean that the amount of points you would need to cover the costs of a single flight can vary widely, HeyMax gives a few examples to help you get a flavour. For example, you may get an economy round trip to Bangkok or Bali for about 10,000 miles, or you could upgrade to business class tickets for 40,000 miles to 60,000 miles depending on the service you choose.

Convert to hotel or airline points

You can make a direct point transfer to switch your Max Miles at a 1:1 ratio for airline miles from 16+ different partners. In this case you can convert from a minimum of 1,000 miles at a time.

Alternatively, you can convert cash-for-miles with 11+ partners. In this case, HeyMax will issue you a temporary virtual card you use to buy your miles and the equivalent number of miles will be deducted from your HeyMax account at a 1:1 ratio. To set up this type of transfer you need to be converting at least 10,000 miles at a time.

The partner airlines and hotels available change from time to time and can be found in the heyMax app.

Trade for gift vouchers

Depending on your points balance you might also want to trade your points for gift vouchers with platforms like Lazada and Amazon, or individual merchants like Adidas. The minimum exchange amount depends on the provider - but usually you can buy vouchers of the value from about 10 SGD to 20 SGD up to about 100 SGD.

Linking HeyMax to Chocolate Finance

To benefit from the Max Miles earning options, you’ll need to first link your card to HeyMax. Visa cards can be linked to HeyMax, including the Chocolate card. The process is simple once you’ve downloaded the HeyMax app - here's how to link HeyMax to Chocolate Finance in a few easy steps⁶:

  3. Tap “Add Card”
  4. Enter your Visa card details

As we’ve mentioned, you can also link other cards to HeyMax, to maximise the amount of rewards you earn.
