When selecting the best money changer in Singapore, you’ll want to consider the overall cost of the provider you pick and the convenience of using them.
The exchange rate is the most important factor in determining the overall cost. Many money changers do not charge a separate commission fee, so the cost is built into the rate they offer. It's crucial to compare the rates from different providers to get the best value.
You can easily use a currency converter tool to keep an eye on the rate, and as a comparison against the exchange rates offered by money changers.
While some providers, especially those at the airport, may have websites with live rates, many smaller money changers do not. This means you will likely need to visit a few locations in person to compare the rates on offer.
Consider the location and operating hours. Money changers are often clustered in key areas like The Arcade, Lucky Plaza, and People's Park Complex. Choosing a location that is convenient for you to save travel time and hassle.
Money changing services typically have set hours, but some providers, such as Mustafa Centre, offer late or even 24/7 options, which can be useful if you need to exchange money outside of standard business hours.
While Mustafa Centre and Changi Airport are your go-to spots for true 24/7 service, places like People's Park and Lucky Plaza offer excellent rates during their extended hours. If your schedule allows for a visit during regular business hours, you can explore an even wider selection in our complete guide to the best money changers in Singapore for potentially more competitive rates.
Singapore’s 24-hour and late-night money-changing landscape consists of clusters of money changers in specific areas, as well as alternatives like standalone ATM-like kiosks, which you can find in hotels throughout the city.
If you’d like to use an in-person money changer, there are key locations that have many chain and independent operators, which can help to drive down costs as providers compete for customers. Common places to look include:
- Mustafa Centre in Little India
- Changi Airport
- People’s Park Complex
- Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road
- Bugis Junction
Or if you’d prefer to use a money changer ATM, you can try FXChange kiosks¹. There are over 100 ATMs in hotels throughout the city, which accept foreign notes and convert them to SGD. These ATMs can handle 16 different currencies for incoming tourists.
You can also get 2-way ATMs which accept foreign notes for conversion to SGD, and Singapore dollars for conversion to foreign cash, at Changi airport. Check out the ATM locations on the FXChange website to see if one is handy for you.
Here’s a quick roundup of the late-night and 24-hour money-changing options in key locations in Singapore:

Let’s look a little closer at the popular 24-hour and late-night money changers mentioned above so you can decide which might suit your specific needs.
The Mustafa Centre² in Little India is famous for offering uninterrupted service, 24/7, across multiple departments, including foreign exchange. You can find a good range of currencies, focusing on Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern currencies, including BDT, PKR, LKR, BHD, and JOD. Other currencies include DKK, NOK, ZAR, and MUR.
You can see indicative rates for your currency pair online, which gives a guide to what you can expect when you visit the store to make your exchange. Pay with cash or card on arrival.
Changi Airport never sleeps - and neither do the money-changing services which operate there. You can find multiple options across all terminals, including landside and airside locations.
Landside options include Changi Recommends³, which has desks before immigration in all terminals, offering 19 major global and regional currencies. You can also look out for Prosegur⁴ exchange services, which have 15 locations across the airport, offering 20+ currencies, or Travelex⁵, which has 23 locations and offers 50+ currencies.
All of these providers offer both a click-and-collect service - which may snag you a better rate - or a walk-in option. You can see the click-and-collect exchange rates in advance, allowing you to compare your options and decide which is best for you.
While the money changers in People’s Park Complex don’t operate 24/7, the advantage you get here is that there are many independent money changers, which can mean competition drives good rates. Generally, providers open from 9 am or 10 am and operate until 9 pm, with an hour break for lunch.
The money changers in People’s Park Complex usually do not have websites to let you view exchange rates prior to visiting, so you’ll need to browse the rates available on the boards outside stores when you visit.
Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road is home to many money-changing services spread from the basement floors throughout the building. Some offer a website to allow you to view the services available in advance, such as Jamserah Jas Money Changer⁶ and BKK Forex⁷. However, as all of these services are independently run, many do not have websites to give rate information in advance. Take some time to look at the rates on offer before you decide which option to use.
The money changers in Lucky Plaza do not operate 24/7, but many open from 9 am to 9 pm, giving plenty of options for late-night exchanges if you need them. Different providers set their own payment methods, but you can usually pay in cash, with a cheque, or by bank transfer.
Around the MRT and shopping area of Bugis Junction, there are several money changing services which operate late night trade through to 9 pm or later. Two popular services - 19 Exchange Money Changer and Bugis Money Changer are on the first floor of the Bugis Junction Mall.
These providers don’t advertise their available currencies or rates online, but do offer competitive services with a range of regional and global currencies available. As there are several options in a small area, you can easily compare your options to pick the best one for your specific exchange.
