Let’s look in more detail at how to receive money on Revolut from banks and other Revolut users.
Your Irish Revolut account offers an IE IBAN for receiving local EUR transfers within the EEA². You can give this to someone sending you money locally to receive a payment. There’s no Revolut fee to receive a payment, and the sender may not need to pay a fee either - this will come down to their own bank’s policy.
It’s helpful to know that there’s a Revolut receive money limit for some payments types. This limit is not disclosed, and is dynamic - so it can change depending on how you transact.³ If you ever hit a limit you’ll need to reach out to the Revolut team to get advice on how to proceed.
If you want to use Revolut to receive money from abroad you can also access local account information to receive a payment from the UK. This gives you a GBP local account sort code and account number.
If you use your GBP local account information to receive a payment, the chances are that the sender will pay no fee if they send from a UK bank. There’s no Revolut receive fee.
Now, if you want to use Revolut to receive money in a different currency you can get SWIFT account information for international transfers in all Revolut supported currencies.
In this case, there’s still no Revolut receive fee, but Revolut do warn that fees can still apply to the transfer, including a fee paid by the sender and intermediary bank fees which can add up quickly.
Revolut quotes the possible intermediary fees as being around 15 USD - 50 USD, which is about 13 EUR - 42 EUR at the time of writing.⁴

Revolut payment links have the advantage that you won’t need to share your account details information to get a payment. Simply generate a link and the person sending you money can click through to send a secure payment easily.
Finally, you can receive Revolut to Revolut transfers by sharing your Revtag, contact information or QR code. The sender can then pass over the money from their Revolut account quickly and easily.

- Log into Revolut and tap Home on the bottom menu
- Select the currency you wish to receive money in
- Tap Details which you’ll find below your account balance
- Choose Local or International depending on the need
- Share these details with the sender.
If you pick an international payment, you’ll also be able to see all the details needed by the sender to make a SWIFT payment.
Remember: If possible, use the details provided for the same currency as the transfer being sent in to avoid unnecessary costs to either yourself or the sender.⁶
