KeyBank transfer limits vary by the type of account you have and the location of your account, among other factors. Because of this variation, KeyBank does not publish transfer limits that apply to all customers.
As a KeyBank customer, you may have daily or monthly transfer limits for Zelle®, wire transfers, and ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfers. These limits apply to the amount transferred in a given period of time, whether it’s a day, a month, or another time period.
The only way to be sure of your KeyBank transfer limit is to call customer service or message KeyBank in the online banking app. KeyBank’s self-service phone number is 1-800-KEY2YOU® (1-800-539-2968).
With Wise, you can send up to 1,000,000 USD per wire transaction to 140+ countries, with the mid-market exchange rate and low, transparent fees. |

Your KeyBank Zelle® transfer limit will depend on the details of your account with KeyBank.¹ To know the limit, you’ll have to get in touch with KeyBank.
Your Zelle® transfer amounts may be limited on a daily and monthly basis. But as long as the transfer amounts don’t exceed your limits, you are free to make as many transfers in a given time period as you want.
To find out your KeyBank Zelle® transfer limit per day and per month, contact KeyBank directly via the mobile app or by calling the self-service line.
You can make an international wire transfer with KeyBank. But if you’re worried about exceeding your transfer limit, you should check with KeyBank directly to find out what it is.
Unfortunately, Zelle® does not offer international wire transfers.²
International wire transfer limits for US banks tend to vary by account and apply to daily and/or monthly time periods. Depending on the other banks involved and whether those banks work with intermediaries, there may be additional fees associated with your international wire transfer.
A smart option if you’re sending money overseas: meet Wise.
With Wise, you can send up to 1,000,000 USD per wire transaction to 140+ countries, with the mid-market exchange rate and low, transparent fees. |

You can find out your KeyBank ACH transfer limits and your limits for other money transfer methods in the KeyBank mobile banking app or online banking website. You can also find out over the phone.
KeyBank customers may have separate limits for Zelle®, wire transfers (domestic and international), and ACH transfers. These limits may apply to a daily and monthly period.
KeyBank’s self-service phone number is 1-800-KEY2YOU® (1-800-539-2968).
To increase your KeyBank transfer limits, try calling KeyBank customer service or visiting your local branch. You may be able to raise your transfer limit on a one-time or permanent basis. However, it’s possible that you will have to upgrade your account to do so.
KeyBank transfers via Zelle®¹ and ACH³ are free for KeyBank account holders. But if you overdraw your account, KeyBank will charge you.
KeyBank customers can send and receive wire transfers in the US and abroad for a standard fee ranging from 0–45 USD.⁴ These fees vary by account.
As an example, here are the wire transfer fees associated with a Key Smart Checking® account:
Transfer type | Key Smart Checking® Transfer Fee⁶ |
---|---|
Domestic wire transfer (outgoing) | 30 USD |
Domestic wire transfer (incoming) | 20 USD |
International wire transfer (outgoing) | 45 USD |
International wire transfer (incoming) | 20 USD |
As you can see, KeyBank charges a fee for incoming wire transfers, which is uncommon.
If you’re transferring a large sum from a KeyBank account, you should contact KeyBank beforehand. KeyBank has limits on transfers of all kinds, and you won’t know what those limits are unless you reach out.
In fact, it’s wise to get in touch with a bank representative before sending a high amount of money via any kind of transfer. Even if you’re not worried about hitting your limit, a large transfer might get flagged as suspicious. To avoid this, contact your bank in advance.
You should also plan ahead. Transfers can take multiple days.
For extra peace of mind, you can always arrange to make a large transfer in person at a bank branch or office.
To find out your KeyBank transfer limits, contact KeyBank by phone or online. Limits vary by the account type, the type of transfer, and your location, among other factors.
As a KeyBank customer, you can use Zelle®, ACH, or wire transfers to move money securely in the US. But Zelle® doesn’t send money abroad, and international wire transfers with KeyBank come with high fees.
With Wise, you can send secure and trackable large amount transfers to 140+ countries worldwide with transparent fees and the fair mid-market exchange rate.
