Both your virtual and physical Atome cards will have different card numbers – but they share the same spending limit.

Exchange rate when using the Atome card overseas

Atome does not specify the exchange rate when using the Atome card overseas. But there are still some fees and charges⁴ to pay.

These include foreign exchange conversion fees, and other transaction processing fees if necessary. More on this below.

Fees and charges when spending with the Atome card abroad

The Atome card offers the option to “buy now, pay later” - this works like a short-term loan, where you can split purchases into more manageable three to six monthly repayments. You can also enjoy up to 40 days of interest-free repayment.

When you pay in a currency other than Philippine pesos, there is a Foreign Exchange Conversion Fee, which is 3.10% of the transaction amount (this includes a 1.98% service fee and a 1.12% cross-border processing fee levied by Mastercard).

If you choose to split your Atome card bill into three to six equal monthly payments, interest fees and transaction processing fees may be added as well. The Transaction Processing Fee ranges from 0% to 2.24% of the transaction amount (including tax).

You may also be billed a Late Fee for missing your repayment or deadline on a bill. This is 5% of the outstanding amount, excluding interest incurred on this amount and/or late fee, calculated on a monthly basis.
