Young Explorer Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice is effective from July 17, 2025.

Young Explorer is designed for parents and legal guardians (“you”) who want to give their children more financial independence while maintaining control over how they spend their money.

This Privacy Notice (“notice”) explains the types of personal data we collect and how we use and share it for providing Young Explorer. Please note that the Wise Customer Privacy Notice also applies to the use of Young Explorer and gives you more information about how we receive, collect, use and share information, as well as your rights in relation to our processing of that information.

You should review this notice together with your child to ensure that they understand what information we collect when they use their card and how we use and share that information.

What data we collect and why

To provide Young Explorer, we collect and use limited personal data about children aged 6 to 17 years old ("child") you provide to us. This includes their full name and date of birth. This information is necessary to:

  • Identify the child associated with the card.
  • Confirm the individual is a child and ensure compliance with age requirements.
  • Personalise and deliver the card.
  • Create and manage the child's balance.
  • Manage the service when the child reaches 18 years old.

We also process card and transaction data to enable spending, parental monitoring, provide support, and ensure the lawful use of the service, including fraud prevention and compliance.

In certain circumstances we may request you to verify the child's information and provide additional documents.

If you choose to add the child's card to a digital wallet, like Apple Pay or Google Pay, their data will be processed according to the terms and privacy policies of Apple or Google, respectively.

Children's rights

As the parent or legal guardian and primary account holder, you can exercise data subject rights on behalf of the child. Wise has a process for handling these requests, which is described in Section 10 of the Wise Customer Privacy Notice.
