How to cancel a Vueling flight

If you have a flight booked with Spanish airline Vueling but have to change your plans, you’ll need to know what your options are.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to cancel Vueling flights, including whether you can get a refund and what Vueling’s cancellation policy says about disruptions due to Covid-19.

How to cancel Vueling flights - your options

The easiest way to cancel Vueling flights is online or through the Vueling app, through the ‘Manage your Booking’ service. You’ll need to have your email address and booking code handy, or details of your destination airport and arrival date¹. You can only do this for flights operated by Vueling.

You can also make changes to your booking by calling the Vueling Customer services centre or by visiting a Vueling Sales Office at an airport².

Can you cancel a Vueling flight within 24h?

Vueling offers the option to make fee-free changes to your flight within 24 hours of booking³. This doesn’t include cancellation, but it does let you change the date or time of the flight, and correct any errors in passenger names.

So, if you do make a mistake, you can correct it without penalty. However, you may still need to pay the difference in fare (if any).

Does Vueling provide a refund for cancelled flights?

Vueling does offer refunds for cancelled flights, but usually in the form of flight credit. This can be used to book new flights with the airline. It can depend what type of ticket you have, and when you booked.

Here’s what you need to know about Vueling’s cancellation policy:

All bookings up to 21st April 2021 include free cancellation and a refund in the form of flight credit²
If you buy a Flex Pack ticket, or a Optima, Family or TimeFlex Fare, you can cancel your flight fee-free up to 48 hours before departure and receive flight credit².
Vueling will consider issuing flight credit or refunds on a case-by-case basis for passengers cancelling flights due to exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, death of a passenger or close relative, or pregnancy³.

Need to cancel a Vueling flight due to Covid?

If you test positive for Covid-19 and can’t travel, you can request a ‘Refund for Justified Reasons’ through Vueling’s customer services team².

You can also change your booking if entry restrictions are put in place at your destination after you booked your flights. But you’ll need to check with Vueling whether you can get a refund or have to pay a change fee.
